Welcome | An Intro to My Daily Delish

Hi friends!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to My Daily Delish. I am so wildly excited to have you here. This has been a dream in my heart for a while now, and I am full of energy and hope as I send this out into the universe. It is my sincere hope that you will use this blog as a tool when dinner time rolls around, and find some inspiration.

I'm a mom of two young toddlers and spend my days chasing them around, playing with excavators in the backyard, and listening to my two year old ask Alexa to play "Juice" for the 400th time. The past year, I've really fallen in love with cooking in a new way, and have worked hard to develop my craft. If you're in the same busy-life-boat as me, let me save you the trouble of scouring the internet for new recipes as dinner time rolls around. Just come here and trust that I've done the work for you! Every recipe on my site is tested and approved by my family of four.

A few notes about my style of cooking: I rarely share salt and pepper measurements because it really is such a personal preference. You'll need to take bites along the way (and who's going to complain about that?!) and adjust to taste. Salt is so often the ingredient that wakes up our meals. Too much, and the salt will overpower. Too little, and the rest of your flavors will sit back and won't be able to shine. Cooking is an art form. It's okay if you feel like a kindergartner starting with finger paints- my step-by-step directions will take you to where you need to go. But please! Adjust, adjust, adjust, and get the flavors where you want them to be.

I often add heat into my dishes as well. I don't make super spicy meals, but similarly to salt, a little heat will get your flavors moving and working together. Don't be afraid to shake a little red pepper flake or cayenne pepper into your meal. It will lift your flavors and bring your dinner together in a really lovely way.

Food is such a passion of mine. Many of my favorite memories revolve around a meal I was eating at the time. Crispy margherita pizza while roaming the streets of Rome when I was 18, homemade tiramisu served in a villa overlooking the water in Tuscany, eating crispy french fries on a rooftop bar in Charleston, homemade pot pie delivered to me when my daughter was only a few days old... Food is such a fabulous demonstration of love. And as an Enneagram 2, serving others is what fuels my fire. I love to take care of people, and making friends a delicious meal is my favorite way to express this.

If you have questions and want to learn, reach out! I'd love to help wherever I can. Cooking can be so fun and restful, versus simply another task at the end of an already full and busy day. I hope you find a few dishes that you really love to create and eat. Thank you again so much for joining me on this adventure. I can't wait to see where it leads us.

Sending you all my love + yummy food vibes,

Katy
